The Timing of Your Value

There are three fundamental components to calculating the present value of an investment. They are: The investment’s future value, the amount of time in which the investment will grow into its future value, and the rate at which the investment will grow during that time. Yesterday we spoke about the future value God has already given us. Today, let’s take a look at the timing of our growth.

In a nutshell, what we consider timing is vastly different from God’s timing. As humans, it is so hard to wrap our minds around that fact that God is simply outside of our world of “time”. “In the beginning God made the heavens and the earth.” (Gen. 1:1) He doesn’t conform to our concept of time. He created it all before the beginning of time, and he simply “is”. “Is what”, you ask? I know. I can’t quite fit it into my comprehension either. But the point here is that even though it takes US time to grow physically, mentally, and spiritually… God doesn’t need a certain amount of time to measure our value to him in this very moment.

For us humans, on the other hand, we tend to think of time as equivalent with value. I often hear people say their time is valuable. Which isn’t necessarily wrong. The time we have here on earth with our friends and family is a precious blessing. However, that doesn’t define our overall value to God. He loved and valued us long before time even existed.

God doesn’t need time to show us what we’re worth to him. He goes before us and he already knows. We are not our past, present, or future. We are his beloved, eternal children.

Lord, help us to always be walking in gratitude for the time that you’ve granted us here on this earth. But allow us to accept and believe that you love us today just as much as you do tomorrow.

Scriptures to meditate on ❤️ :

“God said to Moses, ‘I am who I am! Say this to the Israelite people: “I AM has sent me to you.” ’”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭3:14‬ ‭EASY‬‬

“That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.””
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“God is the one who has saved us. He has chosen us to serve him with good, clean lives. He did not save us because of any good things that we have done. He chose to do it because he is very kind. He decided to do that before time began, because of what Christ Jesus would do for us.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭EASY
