Inside Job

Today, our Pastor @stevenfurtick brought another power-packed message about the voices that we play inside our heads and how they can bring us unnecessary defeat. As the day progressed, I remembered the text of Philippians that we’d just studied with @hollyfurtick 🙌. At the end of his letter, Paul wishes the church in Philippi an encouraging farewell: “All the Christians here, especially the believers who work in the palace of Caesar, want to be remembered to you.” (vv. 4:21-22‬ ‭MSG‬‬). This tells us the reach of Paul’s faith not only went OUT to the church… But seeds were being planted INSIDE the very walls he was imprisoned. They’d infiltrated the very authority that would decide his charges. Without his unrelenting devotion, these members of Caesar’s household surely would not have been called fellow believers.

What about the battles within our own households? Are we strategically working with the right insider, or are we trying to take an enemy down that we keep letting in?

James warns us that “if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.” (vv. 1:23-24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

I must be a doer. Not just a hearer.

Throughout a typical week, I find myself hosting eGroups and Outreach events, sending encouraging words to others, telling them to never give up, rooting for them to boldly progress their kingdom identity. Yet, I arrive at the end of each day telling myself people are sick of me. That I’m really no essential matter. From within my own temple, I tell myself that I don’t deserve to occupy the spaces that I do.

See, my beloved friends, I’m learning day by day… that the only way I’m going to triumphantly take the enemy down is from WITHIN. If I only continue to combat enemy fire on the outside, but point the weapon right back at myself… I will continue to retreat back, across ground I’ve already gained.

I cannot simply hear that I am chosen and equipped for a purpose, but I must believe it for myself. I must apply it to my life. I must take the inside job and obtain victory through Jesus. ❤️

Sometimes the enemy try to make us feel inadequate because he knows that we are impacting the lives of others in a great way. He he successfully stop us he’s stop the growth in the lives of those we reach as well. Thousands of souls defeated with lie from the enemy.
